The day when American EV car giant tesla will hit the roads of india is approaching. Details related to this are coming out one by one. Groundwork is underway to bring tesla cars to india by April. tesla, which has already started hiring domestically, is also known to start manufacturing its own cars. US President trump gave details about this. In this context, after seeing the US President's silence, it became clear that tesla manufacturing is certain in India. It is known that the indian government brought a new policy regarding the import of EV cars in march last year. According to this, foreign companies can import 8,000 vehicles annually with a 15 percent duty by promising an investment of Rs. 4,150 crore. Moreover, it is known that local raw materials will have to be procured for domestic manufacturing.
Tesla is planning to enter india in accordance with this policy. Before this, tesla has prepared a solid plan to make its cars available in the indian market from this April. As part of this, it will initially import cars from Berlin. There is a reason for this. Cars made in America are left-hand driving. It is known that our country has right-hand driving. With this, the production of cars suitable for right-hand driving is being done on a large scale in China, which is adjacent to India. However, it is said that india has expressed its objections to imports from that country. In this context, tesla is planning to bring right-hand driving cars from the Berlin factory in Germany.
Tesla Y model cars are being manufactured here. It is said that these are the ones that are expected to be brought to India. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and tamil Nadu are the main contenders for setting up a tesla plant. Even though ap and telangana are in this race, will they have a chance? The question has now become whether they will. One of Tesla's largest factories is the Giga Factory in Berlin. The cars produced here will first be launched in India.
