Such online money transfer apps are taking various steps to ensure their sustainable growth by charging a specific amount as a service fee for UPI transactions. In that way, google pay has announced that it will charge customers for some services, like phone Pe, PayTM, etc.
While google pay is already charging a service fee of Rs. 3 for recharge, it has been announced that it will charge for services including electricity bills and gas bills. That is, a fee of 0.5 percent to 1 percent of the bill amount will be charged. In the month of january alone, a total of Rs. 23.48 lakh crore UPI transactions were made in the country. Of this, Rs. 8.26 lakh crore UPI transactions were made on google pay alone.
