Incidents of firing have increased recently
According to news agency IANS, the armies of india and pakistan had announced a ceasefire in 2021. After this ceasefire, the tension on the border was reduced to a great extent. Apart from the martyrdom of two indian army soldiers in the Akhnoor sector of the Line of Control on february 11, two other soldiers were injured in firing by pakistan across the Line of Control in the Poonch and Rajouri districts. The indian army gave a befitting reply to the firing from across the border in the Poonch sector. According to reports, there have been some casualties on the Pakistani side as well.
Strict instructions given to security forces
The army and security forces are maintaining strict vigil along the LoC and in the hinterland as traditional infiltration routes have remained open this winter due to less snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir. Union home minister amit shah chaired two security review meetings in Jammu and Kashmir. During those meetings, he ordered the security forces to ensure zero infiltration and zero tolerance towards terrorists. Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha also chaired two security meetings recently, one in srinagar and the other in Jammu. The Lieutenant governor asked the police and security forces to dismantle the terror network by targeting terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and supporters.
