In Mandrem, Goa, a delhi tourist was detained after he reportedly killed a local woman by driving her over with his car. According to reports, the event started as a fight over pet dogs.  The tourist, deepak Batra, has been charged with murder by the police.

Authorities say the fight started when Mariafeliz Fernandes, the victim, and her son asked a group of visitors not to bring their pet dog close to their house because it was interfering with their own pets. A furious dispute resulted from this.

According to witnesses, Mariafeliz was grabbed by her hair by a member of the tourist's family during the altercation, which resulted in her falling.  Her son Joseph was hurt in the shoulder as he hurried to help her.  Mariafeliz was sitting on an adjacent chair, assisted by a passerby.

Mariafeliz was dragged over ten meters after deepak Batra allegedly drove his car at great speed along the same route and purposefully collided with her. CCTV recorded the entire event.

Batra allegedly acted out of rage and left the site right away after the crash, according to locals. The police conducted a thorough investigation and booked deepak Batra under Sections 103 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
