Another incident included a young interfaith couple who tried to legally register their marriage at the district court in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, only to be violently attacked. The event allegedly happened when a Hindu woman from an upper caste and a Muslim guy called Rakin Khan went to court to finalize their marriage papers only to be viciously attacked.

'Court lawyers launched the attack', claims
The pair reportedly entered a lawyer's room, which caused the situation to worsen.  The woman had on a burqa or veil.  When she revealed her Hindu identity throughout the legal process, the local attorneys became suspicious and made Khan provide his Aadhaar card.

Due to their strike, all of the court's attorneys were seated in the chamber at the time of the occurrence.  Then, when Khan revealed he was a Muslim, a group of attorneys hurried to confront him. They encircled him violently and accused him of practicing "Love jihad."  Following the charge, things quickly got out of hand when Khan was physically attacked by the attorneys, who seriously hurt him.

Right-wing extreme groups created the conspiracy theory known as "love jihad," which holds that Muslim males deliberately and strategically seduce and entice non-Muslim women to "convert" them to islam and marry them as part of an "Islamization project."

Following notification to the local police, Civil Lines SHO Kamlesh Sahu and three staff members came to the site.  To protect the couple from the aggressive mob and stop more harm, the police officers acted swiftly.

The severity of the vicious attack is seen in a video of the event that went viral on social media on Saturday, february 22.  In the video, Khan is seen with ripped clothing, and the Hindu woman is shown to be in a distraught state as she is led by the police and placed in a police vehicle.

Police Statement
Speaking about the case, SHO Kamlesh Sahu said that the woman, who had a Hindu name, was attacked by the irate lawyer's crowd because she was wearing a burqa. "The young couple decided to be married after dating for more than a year. Their parents have yet to come forward, and the man is a laborer. "What matters now is that we were able to save them," Sahu told The indian Express.

According to Additional Superintendent of police Vivek Kumar, Khan's allegation led to the filing of a formal case against the named individuals for attacking the victim. "We are investigating the incident and looking into the role of lawyers as well, the officer added".

But no one has been arrested as of yet.
