Here are maha shivratri auspicious rituals:
Devotees fast for the entire day during maha shivratri and present lord shiva with milk, honey, ghee, fruits, bhaang, and sweets. Before going to the temple to ask the deity for blessings, all of the devotees take a bath early in the morning.
On the evening of Mahashivratri, they congregate at the temple to worship the shiva Linga. Devotees then spend the whole night at the temple lighting lamps. Additionally, at night, magnificent processions of lord shiva and Parvati are carried out on a palanquin.
Devotees often eat a small sattvic meal—which excludes non-cereal meals, fruits, and sweets—to break the fast.
