After killing Osama bin laden, the former US Navy SEAL has now ventured into the cannabis industry. According to the New York Post, Robert O'Neill is starting a legal cannabis company called Operator Canna Co., which will soon be available at New York City dispensaries.

O'Neill recently discussed his desire to get into the cannabis industry in an interview with the New York Post.  He said that his military background and seeing other veterans struggle with PTSD had an impact on his decision to enter the cannabis industry.

"I wanted to get into the cannabis business through my experience in the military and watching vets suffer from things like post-traumatic stress disorder," he stated.

O'Neill also discussed his own experience and claimed that he finds that taking cannabis helps him.

"I usually take it at night to help me go to sleep," he stated.

According to the 48-year-old veteran, cannabis can help people manage their stress and anxiety.  "It's an effective way to reduce tension," he said.  It helps to calm the mind.  He also intends to establish a separate nonprofit initiative to benefit handicapped soldiers with a share of his company's profits.

Cannabis is now viewed by O'Neill as one way to enhance wellbeing.  He even implied that political tensions may be reduced by cannabis.

"We can have more fruitful talks if we use cannabis.  Here, we have the chance to bring about world peace," he stated.

In 2011, the former SEAL Team 6 made news after they killed Osama bin laden during a mission in Abbottabad, Pakistan.  From close range, he fired bin laden.  Speaking of the mission, he said that he believed it would be his final one.

"I thought that would be my last day on Earth: We're going to kill him, and he's going to kill us," he said.  "We were able to fulfill the mission."

Military-themed cannabis company O'Neill has incorporated elements of his military experience into Operator Canna Co.  The website's green, military-inspired aesthetics and a cursor that mimics a sniper's target are examples of this.  The names of the cannabis strains are also related to his experiences.

The ex-soldier gave his pre-rolled packages names like fire Like This and Front Toward Enemy.

In response to questions about drugs and addiction, O'Neill said that cannabis is a safer alternative to pharmaceutical medications and alcohol.

His company's website outlines its mission to serve first responders, law enforcement, and veterans while providing healthy alternatives to dangerous narcotics.  It points out, "Our mission is to provide high-quality, hand-crafted cannabis to promote recovery and well-being while honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms."
