Online, streaming services like Netflix, amazon Prime Video, and others are receiving a lot of criticism from indians who claim that these services are discriminatory against particular languages.  Consider Jurassic Park as an example.  Zee5 only offers hindi and tamil as indian language options, despite the fact that the movie was dubbed in several other languages, including Telugu.  Those whose native language was not displayed on the site even if the video was dubbed in it are understandably enraged by such incidents.

Given that over 100 languages are spoken there, this issue becomes considerably more unique to India.  It would be impossible produce provide material in all 22 of the officially recognized languages.  In nations like the US, where english is the most widely spoken language and Spanish is not far behind, these platforms do not have to deal with such issues.  The fact that indians have strong feelings for their native tongues must be acknowledged by streaming services.

Until the platforms begin to give each regional tongue the respect it deserves, this type of indignation will persist. Several OTT platforms are facing this issue and the language dubbing trouble is growing each day.
