"A team is being sent right now. With the aid of a machine, we will now climb the last 40 meters, which we were unable to accomplish yesterday. In parallel, excavators will be deployed inside, and dewatering is underway," Santosh stated.
Minister Jupally krishna Rao, who was in charge of the rescue efforts, stated that the eight stranded people had "very remote" odds of surviving. "The prospects of survival are not good, but I can't forecast them... However, we will attempt to preserve them even if there is just a remote possibility. Eight persons are involved: two firm personnel, two foreign employees, and four laborers. There is absolutely no lapse and we are not sacrificing any effort," krishna Rao declared on Monday.
He said that a group of rat miners who helped free the construction workers who were stuck in the uttarakhand tunnel between Silkyara Bend and Barkot in 2023 joined the rescue efforts to free the victims.
The district collector stated that although the seepage persisted, every effort was being made by the authorities to stop more harm.
The Tunnel Boring Machine will be cut, and the slush will be cleared, according to Achampet mla Vamsi Krishna, who was also on the scene.
He stated that a micro-camera would be deployed inside the tunnel to inspect the areas that the indian army and NDRF were unable to access previously because of slush. To make the rescue process easier, the camera will be used to determine the precise location of people who are trapped.
The other employees at the location, meantime, grumbled about the management's haughtiness and the nonpayment of salaries. They declared their disinterest in going back to work on the tunnel.
"We heard a loud noise and noticed a heavy flow of water and mud, after which we started running," stated one of the workers who were there when the tunnel collapsed. After three months without receiving our pay, the management is now making us return to the same location. After seeing the accident, we are unwilling to go back.
According to news agency ANI, Larsen & Toubro was installing an endoscopic camera so that the interior of the tunnel could be observed. "We also carried out identical action during the uttarakhand rescue effort. There are two teams present. Robotic and endoscopic cameras have arrived," the camera operator informed ANI.
