With both critical and box financial success, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava has proven to be an enormous triumph. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, the historical drama, which was directed by Laxman Utekar and premiered on february 14, has already made over 270 crores in revenue on a budget of 130 crores.

It's interesting to note that rumors indicate mahesh babu was first told about this idea years ago, but he chose not to pursue it for whatever reason.  Vicky Kaushal's performance is receiving a lot of praise, which is a major turning point in his career.  The audience has shown Vicky a great deal of kindness as a result of her job.  How could Mahesh have missed the potential impact?

Given that pushpa was allegedly offered to him as well before allu arjun picked it up and made it a pan-India success, this has disappointed some of his admirers.  The topic of mahesh babu losing out on another possible success has come up again since Chhaava became a smash.

Fans also remember that Superstar Krishna, Mahesh's father, had long hoped to play Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj on cinema.  According to reports, he even had a screenplay written but never followed through on it out of concern that it might insult his sizable Muslim fan following.  Many people think Mahesh should accept such parts in order to uphold his father's vision and pursue new avenues for his career, especially because Chhaava demonstrated that viewers are interested in large-scale historical epics.
