The actor preity zinta called the rumors about her loan being forgiven by a bank in exchange for bjp favors "vile gossip" on social media.  Preity Zinta criticized the kerala Congress for disseminating "fake news" in a post on X, claiming that the money in question was "fully paid back" ten years ago.

Preity Zinta was reacting to a message from the kerala Congress account, which claimed that Zinta had donated "her social media accounts to bjp and got 18 Cr written off" from the New india Co-operative bank.  The kerala Congress said that "Depositors are on the streets for their money," alluding to the RBI's new limits on withdrawals from the New india Co-operative Bank.

In a sharply worded comment, preity zinta responded to the post by saying, "No, I manage my social media accounts myself, and shame on you for spreading FAKE NEWS!  I didn't have any loans or anything written off.  I'm appalled that a political party or its representative is exploiting my name and photographs to spread false information, engage in disgusting rumors, and create clickbait.  For the record, more than ten years ago, a loan was taken out and paid back in full.  I hope this helps to clear things out and prevent future misconceptions.
