After 37 years of marriage, actor govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, are reportedly on the verge of divorcing. According to rumors, the couple has decided to formally split after living apart for a while. Their most recent public appearance together was on the program Entertainment Ki Raat. His statement on the broadcast was, "Sunita meri zindagi mein jabse aayi hai, main sudhar gaya hoon." (I've changed since Sunita entered my life.)

In an open interview with hindi Rush last month, Sunita said that she and govinda mostly reside in different homes, with govinda sometimes sleeping at his bungalow because of late meetings and get-togethers.  "We own two homes: a cottage across from our apartment.  My children and my temple are in the apartment.  He'll get ten people together and sit and talk to them because he loves to talk," she added.
 
The alleged reason behind govinda and Sunita's divorce is...
They have been living together for about 40 years.  However, there are rumors that the actor and his 30-year-old Marathi co-star's developing intimacy contributed to their breakup.
 
When Sunita said she never liked Govinda
Sunita once said that Govinda's outdated ideas were the reason she had never liked him.  She recalled, "He wanted me to wear sarees all the time, I never liked him because he was very backward."  Despite this, Sunita started their romance because govinda was "scared to touch women."
 
Sunita didn't feel secure in her marriage with Govinda
Sunita discussed her feelings about their marriage in the same interview, stating that she felt safe in the past, particularly when govinda collaborated with actresses raveena tandon and Karisma Kapoor.  She is now more wary of his behavior, though.
 
 "I used to feel very secure earlier in our marriage, but not anymore," she laughed.  She clarified that because govinda was constantly preoccupied with his job during his prime, she wasn't concerned about allegations of an affair.  However, she is more worried now that he is older and has more free time.  "He didn't have time for affairs when he was younger since he was so busy.  But now that he's sitting around doing nothing, I'm worried about what he could do," she said.

Yashvardhan and Tina Ahuja are the proud children of govinda and Sunita, who were married on march 11, 1987.  Fans are anxiously awaiting an official declaration from the couple confirming their relationship status, even as rumors persist.
