The actor Anya Taylor-Joy became well-known after playing Beth Harmon in Netflix's highly regarded miniseries The Queen's Gambit (2020). Taylor-Joy won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for the show, which chronicles the ascent to international renown of an orphaned chess prodigy. As the lead in George Miller's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and most recently with Miles Teller in the love drama The Gorge (2025), Taylor-Joy has been in a number of blockbusters and independent smashes. The young celebrity's next crime drama confirms that she won't be slowing down anytime soon.
The first glimpse of Lucky, the new limited series executive produced and starring Anya Taylor-Joy in association with Reese Witherspoon's hello Sunshine, has been made public via apple TV+.  Lucky, which is based on the best-selling book by Marissa Stapley, will follow Taylor-Joy, a young lady who left a life of crime.  However, in a last-ditch effort to permanently flee, she must embrace her former ways as the past calls.  Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Timothy Olyphant, five-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening, and Drew Starkey (Queer) are also on the cast of Lucky.
 

Deadline has now made Lucky's first-look photos public, providing a sneak peek at the eagerly awaited criminal drama.  A tense and passionate interaction between their characters is hinted at when Taylor-Joy and Drew Starkey gently hug one other while the city's brilliant cityscape is behind them.
