You've all probably heard about the "controversy" surrounding rachel Zegler's casting as the main character in Disney's live-action Snow White remake by now. Although the Shazam! Fury of the Gods actress has made some comments on the well-known 1937 animated film that didn't help the situation, a significant portion of the criticism seems to be directed at the fact that her skin isn't as "white as snow."

In an interview with Vogue mexico (via Toonado.com), Zegler discussed her current position on the conservative criticism of her casting. She seemed to be extremely selective about what she said.   "I interpret people’s feelings about this film as passion for it, and what an honor to be able to be a part of something that people are so passionate about," she told the newspaper.  "We’re not always going to have the same feelings as everyone around us and all we can do is give our best."

She hinted at what Disney fans may anticipate from this version, saying that the company "has found this beautiful, delicate balance between taking the animated classic that everyone knows and loves from 1937" and "introducing it to this new generation." Snow White has generated some controversy for reasons other than Zegler's casting.  Many people think that the Seven Dwarfes were first omitted from the narrative in favor of a bank of varied "Bandits."

Although reshoots have altered that, the CG characters have not received a very favorable reception (the expectation is that the visual could be improved by the time the movie is released).  No matter how much post-production tweaking is done, we still anticipate significant modifications to have been made.
