A budding hindi movie star has claimed that she was repeatedly raped by well-known businessman shyam Sunder Bhartia. Netra*, who has been in several films and web series with well-known celebrities, said that a lady by the name of pooja Kamaljeet Singh used extortion to force her into these circumstances.

Since 2014, Netra has been employed in the film business.  She informed Newslaundry that a producer by the name of Hashim Khan introduced her to pooja Singh in 2023, portraying her as a powerful figure in the movie business.  Netra said she contacted Singh, who said he was a well-wisher after Khan passed away later in 2023.

Singh and shyam Sunder Bhartia, the founder of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, were among four people named in a formal complaint (FIR) made by the Kapurbawadi police in thane on february 22 of this year, more than a year later.  It happened after the bombay high court heard Netra's plea, in which she claimed that the thane Nagar police were failing to file a formal report (FIR) in response to her complaint, which she had filed on november 11 of last year.

Bhartia referred to all of the accusations as "baseless, false, and disparaging" on february 25.  The bombay Stock Exchange was informed that press stories about Bhartia had "no material impact on the company or its operations" by Jubilant Foodworks that same day.

The Company's Statement
Regarding media reports regarding the police filing a formal complaint, the company has obtained a statement from Mr. shyam S. Bhartia, Chairman of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, in his individual capacity, in which he refutes all of the accusations, stating that they are unfounded, untrue, and derogatory and that they were made with blatant malice against him.  The police will look into the issue on its own merits, according to the ruling of the Hon'ble high court of bombay, which may be obtained from the court's website.  In the aforementioned order, the court also clarified that they had not given the complaint's merits any thought at all.

When asked to assist the inquiry agency, Mr. Bhartia will do it without reservation since he is a good citizen.  No more remarks can be made at this time because the inquiry into this subject is still underway.  He has also asked that the family's privacy be protected.  The business attests that the aforementioned news stories don't materially affect it or its operations.

Bhartia and pooja Singh were contacted by the india Herald for comment.  If they reply, this report will be updated.
