At the box office, Vicky Kaushal's "Chhaava" is setting several new records, and the anticipation appears to grow daily.  However, despite all of the excitement, the film is also generating some controversy and criticism.

Following the film, people have been observed sobbing, yelling, and wailing, and even children are mimicking the conversation in cinemas.  Students from some schools have attended a performance of Chhaava at theaters.  Netizens have also expressed their disapproval of that.  The film has received a U/A 16+ classification from the CBFC, meaning it is legally prohibited for children under sixteen to see it in cinemas.  Nonetheless, some parents take their children as young as five to the movies.

There are still some things to consider if we disregard the debates about propaganda and historical misrepresentations.  The entire film is filled with graphic and brutal scenes.  Internet users believe that it is extremely insulting to the certification for schools to show Chhaava to their students.  Because audiences don't appear to care about the certificates, they also questioned the censor board's judgments to chop and edit foreign films in accordance with the so-called "Indian traditional code."

"Chhaava," a historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, has no plans to slow down.  With a first-day gross of Rs. 31 crores, the february 14 release marked the biggest opening of 2025 and Vicky Kaushal's career to date!  The film is almost finished with 13 days at the box office, and it looks like it will end its second week strongly as it approaches the ₹400 crore milestone.
