BJP mla Michael Lobo asserted on thursday that the sale of idli-sambar in beach shacks is contributing to a "decline" in foreign visitors to Goa. Speaking at a news conference in Calangute, North goa, Lobo stated that all parties involved bear equal responsibility and that the government cannot be held solely accountable if fewer foreigners travel to the coastal state.

Lobo lamented that Goans had let foreign businesses rent their beach shacks.

In the shacks, some Bengaluru residents are selling idli-sambar, while others are providing "vada pav."  For the past two years, the state has seen a decline in international tourists, he explained.

However, the lawmaker didn't go into detail about how his state's tourism is being impacted by the well-liked South indian morning meal.

The decline in the number of tourists is causing a stir.  The number of foreign tourists has sharply decreased along the coastal belt, whether it is in the north or the south.  This is the result of several causes," Lobo stated.

He stated that everyone should be accountable for it as a stakeholder.

According to Lobo, goa sees some international visitors each year, but younger foreign visitors are leaving the state.

"A joint meeting between the tourism department and other stakeholders is necessary to investigate the reasons why foreign tourists are not prepared to visit goa," he stated.

According to Lobo, Russian and Ukrainian visitors have ceased visiting goa as a result of the conflict.  "Goa is no longer visited by tourists from former USSR countries," he stated.

According to the mla, the state ought to resolve the important concerns pertaining to tourism, such as the distinctions between local tourist taxi companies and cab aggregators.

He warned, "We will see dark days in the tourism sector if we don't put a system in place."
