As the release date of Sikandar, which stars salman khan and rashmika mandanna, draws closer, the excitement around the film is intensifying.  With just two days of filming remaining, the movie is rapidly nearing completion.  According to recent sources, the film's producers have scheduled its theater release for sunday, march 30, in order to align it with Eid on march 31.  Salman Khan's Eid films, such as Kick, typically come two to three days before to the celebration and still have a massive opening.

But this time, there is controversy over the choice to release Sikandar on a sunday rather than the customary friday (March 28).  This action, according to many on social media, implies that the filmmakers are not confident in the film's content or salman Khan's current box office performance.  They don't appear to care about the movie's long-term box office success, instead depending on the sunday and Eid holiday bump to maximize early receipts.

Additionally, there is worry that Sikandar may have created a bad impression if he had released on a typical friday and failed to make a huge impression.  By scheduling the release to coincide with a certain holiday bump, the filmmakers appear to be playing it safe in a box office environment where opinion frequently determines a film's destiny.  In the meantime, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director AR murugadoss are putting in a lot of effort to make sure the movie is finished on schedule.  Large amounts of visual effects are needed for the action-packed scenes, and extra funds have been set aside to expedite post-production.
