As fans and movie critics had expected, Loveyapa was a failure when it debuted on february 7.  This movie was destined for a dull run because of its own dreary and uninspired advertising.  Numerous internet users noted that Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan's nepo child cast lacked any appeal.  However, everyone adored Junaid in his OTT debut, Maharaj, and it was a triumph in its own right.

With his big-screen debut, this was not the case.  He also conveyed his sadness over the same when questioned about it by his father, Aamir Khan.  He revealed that he observes his job decisions from a distance rather than becoming engaged.  He was ten times more anxious about his son's debut than he was about his own movies coming out.

 But he is deeply devastated after seeing its failure.  However, he is aware that success and failure are cyclical in the entertainment industry.  He disclosed that Junaid and sai pallavi would soon appear together in a romance movie.  After reading the screenplay, he is optimistic about it.

 A few days prior to the 2025 Oscars, aamir khan spoke candidly about Laapataa Ladies' exclusion from the competition.  India's official oscar nomination for Best international Feature Film this year is kiran Rao's humorous film with a profound social message.  One of the producers of the movie is Aamir Khan.  The movie was not included on the oscar shortlist.
