On february 28, 2025, the tamil drama film Kudumbasthan, starring Manikandan, was supposed to debut on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.  But according to recent reports, the release date has been rescheduled for a later date.  According to OTTPlay, the Manikandan film Kudumbasthan will now be available on ZEE5 on march 7, 2025.  Nevertheless, the creators have not really confirmed this as of yet.

The main character of Kudumbasthan, played by Manikandan, is Naveen, the only provider for his middle-class family who tries to make ends meet.  Naveen has everyday problems after taking on the tasks of remodeling his home, paying for his mother's religious journey around India, and helping his expectant wife pursue her UPSC dreams.
 
But then things go wrong and naveen loses his job.  He attempts to conceal his job loss from his entire family out of fear of being called a loser by his arrogant brother-in-law once more. The remainder of the movie centers on Naveen's ability to maintain the appearance of still having a job and his ability to fulfill his obligations before giving in to the system of the average person.

K. Manikandan plays the lead in the tamil film Kudumbasthan.  Guru Somasundaram, R. Sundarrajan, Saanve Megghana, Kudassanad Kanakam, balaji Sakthivel, Nivedita Rajappan, Saanvika Shree, tsr Srinivasan, Varghese Mathew, and several more actors play important parts in the movie in addition to him.
