It could be best for many indians who obtained US Green Cards through asylum to stay away from any trips home.  Their Green card may even be in danger of being revoked since immigration officials are on heightened alert.  People obtaining Green Cards through asylum were cautioned in a social media post to "wait until at least 2028 to apply for citizenship or sponsor your spouse/children."
 
Although the user did not mention Trump's name, it is clear from the timeframe that it is due to the harsh immigration policies of his administration.  But it also triggered the controversy over the abuse of asylum to get green cards.  According to the original poster, they had previously seen hundreds of thousands of asylum-seeking Green card holders leave the country and return to the US without any problems.  The government won't overlook it this time, though, and may restart your asylum case.
