For many indian techies, the American Dream is more like a never-ending waiting list.  People who have lived in the US for decades are left feeling despondent and upset by the constant denials of their Green Card applications.  This dissatisfaction was expressed on social media by someone who had spent ten years in the US, jumped through the F1 to OPT to H-1B process, and then been delayed at the final step to get US residence.

Delays pushed them to pursue the marital path after they initially filed for a green card through their job (PERM).  The AOS procedure is taking too long, so even being married to a US citizen didn't make things go any faster.  To make matters worse, they are losing out on work chances since their H-1B renewal is taking an eternity.  "My other filing is also stalled after I got biometrics done," they stated. Biometrics is 12/31, PD is 12/2/24, and all cases (EAD, AP, i130, and i485) are now at a standstill.

The user states they witness others get a green card as early as four months, which adds to their dissatisfaction.  Thousands of indian techies deal with this brutal reality, and this is just one instance.  Even though the US system has made significant contributions to the STEM area in America, one of its strongest populations is still let down by it.  Red tape loops ensnare even people who adhere to all regulations.
