As rashmika Mandanna's fame grew throughout India, scandals surrounding her also began to surface.  When she stated that she is from hyderabad and not Karnataka, several people recently criticized her South indian accent in Chhaava and questioned her ethnic background.  Her movies have been consecutive box office successes, from pushpa 2 to Chhaava.  She has always distanced herself from her kannada heritage and insisted that she is a product of the telugu cinema industry.

Fans now believe, however, that she has even cut ties with the telugu cinema industry.  She has no telugu films in the works, with the exception of Vijay Devarakonda's next film with director Rahul Sankrityan.  The Hindi-language movie Sikandar, starring salman khan, seemed to have her most enthused.  It is impossible for fans to avoid wondering if rashmika is also attempting to separate herself from her telugu heritage.

Many were disappointed that she was abandoning her South indian heritage, which initially contributed to her success, simply because she had achieved recognition in the North.  Though it's too soon to draw any conclusions, understanding Rashmika's point of view alone will help to clarify the whole situation.
