The 97th Academy Awards have ended, and this year's winners were a lot of surprises.  This is one of the most surprising Oscars in recent memory, according to a lot of social media users.  Here are some examples of such unexpected events.  1. Best Actress: Due to their outstanding performances in the films Anora and The Substance, respectively, Mikey Madison and Demi Moore were the front-runners.
 
Many believed Demi Moore would win after she took home the Best Actress honors at the Golden Globes, SAGs, and Critics Choice Awards.  However, Mikey Madison ultimately took home the prize.  2. Best international Film: Emilia Perez was the front-runner in most categories, including Best international Feature, with 13 nominations.
 
But the Brazilian film I'm Still Here emerged from the curriculum and won this esteemed prize.  3. Best Animated Feature: A few months ago, nobody would have predicted that a modest film from a tiny nation like latvia would defeat major studios like Pixar and Universal Pictures to win Best Animated Feature.  This award was won by the Latvian film Flow, which defeated Pixar's Inside Out 2 and Universal's The Wild Robot. Congrats to all the winners!
