'I don't think I will be able to see that period'
CM Omar said that I don't think I would be able to see that period again in my life as close as we came to solving the kashmir issue. Referring to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, when the situation worsened in 2010, working groups were formed to heal the wounds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Even today those working groups are important.
Paying tribute to the departed leaders in the Jammu assembly today, chief minister omar abdullah said that when the house met last time, the first name on the list was that of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This time too, the first name on the list is that of former prime minister manmohan Singh.
Work to connect kashmir was done through the Banihal tunnel.
CM Abdullah said that referring to the world's highest railway bridge built on the Chenab River, he said that we are waiting for the prime minister to come and inaugurate the railway to Kashmir. But, the work of connecting kashmir with the rest of the world started at the time of Banihal tunnel. I was with prime minister manmohan Singh on the train then.
The tallest bridge started during manmohan Singh's time
