The teaser for HIT 3, which starred nani and was helmed by Sailesh Kolanu, was well appreciated and soon reached a record number of views.  It even outperformed the Kingdom trailer, which starred Vijay Deverakonda.  The teaser and appearance of nani, who portrays a strong police officer in HIT 3, have already been made public.  There are currently no other significant telugu releases scheduled for May 1st, the day the film is scheduled to be released.  This suggests that HIT 3 may be released separately in the telugu states.

But a week early, on april 25, Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, is set to be released.  The main attraction of Kannappa is the prabhas factor.  HIT 3 may be impacted if the movie is unexpected, although the harm will be small.  In the meantime, karthik Subbaraj's Retro, which stars Suriya, is also aiming for a May 1 release date.  The film's production is nearly finished, and the teaser and soundtrack will be released shortly.  According to tamil media circles, Retro's May 1 release date is all but certain.

Furthermore, there are suspicions that dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram, may also be released on the same day.  Dhruva Natchathiram's repeated delays, however, will not have a significant effect on HIT 3.  Retro will be the true rival to Nani's flick.  Positive feedback about Retro could have a big impact on HIT 3.  The main concern at this point is whether the creators of HIT 3 would release their product as scheduled or delay it by one week in order to avoid direct rivalry.
