After two consecutive disasters, including indian 2 and Game Changer, shankar is in serious difficulty.  There is now a lot of talk that producers in the tollywood and kollywood sectors are not interested in making his films and are boycotting him.  Despite the presence of big-name actors like kamal haasan and ram charan in both indian 2 and Game Changer, shankar is unable to make a profitable film because of the films' antiquated plots and scenes.

Despite these two films' failures, the production qualities were outstanding because Game Changer had a budget of 450 crores, while indian 2 had a budget of about 300 crores.  Both films ended up being huge losses for the production companies because of the overbudget.  Shankar is currently in serious danger with the failure of these two films.

The rumor claims that no producers expressed interest in making Shankar's ideal project, the historical film Velpari, and instead boycotted him.  Indian 3 is Shankar's sole remaining opportunity.  Red Giant Pictures is expressing interest in finishing indian 3, despite the fact that the film is also having issues.  Shankar might return if indian 3 turns out to be a huge business success.  According to industry insiders, shankar would not be able to pursue his next directing endeavor if indian 3 again fails since no producers would be willing to finance his film.
