On Tuesday, march 5, india advanced to the Champions Trophy 2025 final by defeating australia in the first semi-final at the dubai International cricket Stadium. The final will now take place in dubai instead of Lahore, pakistan, following India's triumph. Because of security concerns, the bcci had already declined to send Team india to pakistan, therefore the ICC decided to utilize a hybrid approach for the competition.
The ICC authorized a budget of roughly Rs 586 crore for the Champions Trophy, which would include 15 matches overall, according to the
news agency PTI. The anticipated budget for each match was Rs 39 crore.
pakistan lost Rs 156 crore as a result of four matches that were scheduled to take place in
pakistan being played in Dubai.
pakistan is now expected to lose a another Rs 39 crore, raising its total financial loss to Rs 195 crore, as the final match is also being moved to Dubai.
In order to host the tournament,
pakistan had initially budgeted about Rs 500 crore to renovate its three stadiums. The turnout at these places was not as high as the
pakistan cricket Board (PCB) had planned for. The problem was made worse by Pakistan's early elimination from the competition and two rain-affected games, which compelled PCB to reimburse ticket purchases for those games.
pakistan is anticipated to ask the ICC for financial support as the competition draws to a close in order to make up for its losses.
