A lot of buzz and expectation usually surrounds the premiere of franchise movies and scenes. This is especially true for blockbuster movies that had wildly successful first parts and are now coming out with a second section. With the upcoming sequel L2E Empuraan, which is the follow-up to the 2019 Malayali hit Lucifer, that is not at all the case.
 
The promotional campaign for this sequel is ongoing in whatever capacity it is in preparation for its march 28 theatrical release.  The problem, though, is that there may not have been as much excitement and anticipation for this movie as there has been for any recent sequel.  It's safe to assume that right now, the telugu market for this movie is completely dead.

The original's lackluster performance in the telugu states may be the primary cause of this.  It didn't have the same lineage as a kgf or Kantara.  Additionally, chiranjeevi remade the original in telugu as Godfather.  In the telugu states, this might have made the original less shiny.  The sequel is currently in a dire state.  Not many telugu people are even aware that the movie would be out on march 28.
 
Along with several well-known malayalam actors, mohanlal is part of the ensemble cast of the movie.  In addition to that, prithviraj Sukumaran is a very talented and accomplished actor.  The director is in charge of this movie.  Therefore, word-of-mouth marketing should be the sole reason for any momentum the movie managers may have following its release.  

However, there are still a number of other options available, such as Mad Square, Robin Hood, and Sikandar, all of which are scheduled for release over the weekend of march 4.  Thus, this will further hurt the movie's chances of becoming successful in the telugu market.
