
MHA: home Ministry's initiative to promote regional language, 32 offices given the status of hindi Daksh Office
The central government has taken this initiative to promote linguistic uniformity in central agencies. A total of 32 offices are included in those who have received the recognition of hindi Daksh Office. This includes seven offices of Indo Tibetan Border police (ITBP), five of the National Disaster Response Force (ITBP), and 20 offices of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The home Ministry has taken a big initiative to promote the use of Hindi in government offices. The ministry has recognized 32 offices including ITBP, NDRF, and CISF as Hindi Daksh Office. Here 82 percent of the employees have acquired the knowledge of working in Hindi.

The home Ministry says that this initiative is part of the effort to promote working in hindi and regional languages. The home Ministry issued a notification last week recognizing hindi proficiency in the office to encourage its officers and employees and CAPF personnel.
The notification said, in pursuance of sub-rule (4) of rule 10 of the Official Languages (Use for Official Purposes of the Union) Rules, 1976 (amended in 1987), the central government hereby notifies the following offices under the Ministry of home Affairs, in which more than 80 percent of the employees have acquired knowledge of Hindi.
The announcement was made to conduct a constable examination in 13 languages.
The Ministry of home Affairs, in a historic decision in april 2023, approved the conduct of the Constable (General Duty) examination for Central Armed police Forces (CAPF) in 13 regional languages besides hindi and English. This historic decision was taken on the initiative of Union home and Cooperation minister Amit Shah to increase the participation of local youth in CAPF and promote regional languages.
The central government has launched several initiatives to promote hindi among employees. The central government provides hindi language training to personnel having knowledge of Hindi to enhance their efficiency. This initiative aims to promote hindi in official work while respecting linguistic diversity.
