There have been reports that surrogate moms are now staying in private hostels located across Chennai.

Because of the practical issues this presents, the residents are not satisfied.

Chennai is a popular destination for both employment and education. They are also served by a number of hostels. In different sections of the city, such as Nungambakkam, Kodambakkam, Choolaimedu, Mehta Nagar, Anna Nedumbathai, and Gil Nagar, these hostels are operated by private persons with permissions.

Due to factors like infertility and delayed conception, chennai has also seen a surge in the number of hospitals and artificial insemination institutions. According to reports, the aforementioned hospitals and institutions hire a large number of foreign-born women, especially those from Bangladesh, as surrogate mothers.

Signatories will be required to stay there for a year in order to receive treatment. In order to do this, they will rent a home, remain there, and then return to their hometown after the baby is born.  Finding a rental home used to be challenging. Now, everything has altered drastically. Because surrogate moms are increasingly renting out private hotels.

"We are running hostels for students in a rented building," the hostel administration stated. The price has increased significantly. Maintenance costs are quite costly, as are the building's down payment, building rent, energy bills, and the salaries of the hostel manager, custodian, cook, cleaner, and others. It was not possible to determine the accommodation fee appropriately.

For this reason, many individuals have ceased operating hostels. The people in charge of it right now are also having a lot of trouble.

Many have turned the hostels they were managing into surrogate mother rental homes.  This makes it possible for the hostel to operate profitably—or at least profitably.  "They said."

These agents are supposed to work to please three parties: the fertility centers, the surrogates, and the hotel operators, as the majority of surrogates are from out-of-state nations. The concerned owners have been instructed to provide the appropriate local police station with a list of those who are renting homes and those who are residing in hostels. Therefore, how many have submitted and what legal action will be taken against those who have not is the key question.

Communication is a problem for individuals residing with surrogate moms and other apartment tenants because the majority of them speak a foreign language. Practical issues exist, particularly in regard to water use, trash disposal, congestion, and the mobility of strangers. According to social experts, it is crucial that the appropriate local police agencies and those who provide homes for surrogate mothers handle these pragmatic concerns.
