Delhi: Swami Vivekananda Marg instead of Tughlaq Lane, bjp mp Dinesh Sharma changed the name of the road on the nameplate of the residence
BJP mp Dinesh Sharma said it is normal that when someone goes to a house, a nameplate is installed. I had not gone there, and I had not seen it. When people related to it asked me what kind of nameplate should be there, I said that it should be according to the surroundings.
Amidst the ongoing controversy over changing the names of roads in the New delhi Municipal Council area, on Thursday, rajya sabha mp Dr. Dinesh Sharma installed a plaque of Swami Vivekananda Marg instead of Tughlaq Lane at the gate of the government residence. Sharma has been allotted a government residence at 6 Tughlaq Lane. He entered the residence with his family. Also, I posted this picture on social media.
BJP mp Dinesh Sharma said it is a normal process that when someone goes to a house, a nameplate is installed. I had not been there, I had not seen it, when people related to it asked me what kind of nameplate should be there, I said that it should be according to the surroundings. Vivekanand Marg was written on the nearby houses and Tughlak Lane was written below, both were written together. Tughlak Lane is written on the nameplate even today and Vivekanand Marg has been written for convenience.
When I asked the employees, they said that on google that place comes up as Vivekanand Road, it is written like this so that people do not get confused between Vivekanand Road and Tughlak Lane... I know that the mp does not have the right to change the name of the road. This is the work of the state government and the municipal body, there is a process for this. I had no right to change it, nor do I have it, nor have I done it. In the normal process, the painter would have written the same name that was written on the nearby houses, it does not mean that I have changed (the name of) any place.
