
Women's Day-chess player, scientists take over PM's social media!
Prime minister Narendra Modi honored "nari shakti" on the occasion of international Women's Day and declared that a number of female achievers will be in charge of his social media accounts for the day. The prime minister reiterated his government's commitment to women's empowerment through a number of programs and initiatives in a brief video on X.
"On #WomensDay, we give thanks to our Nari Shakti! Women's empowerment has always been a priority for our government, and this is evident in our policies and initiatives. As promised, women who are making waves in a variety of industries will take over my social media properties today," he tweeted.
Chess Grandmaster Vaishali is one of the females who would be in charge of PM Modi's social media accounts for the day. She is the older sister of chess prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and the 2023 Women's Grand swiss Tournament champion.
"On #WomensDay, I, Vaishali, am ecstatic to be taking over our prime minister Narendra Modi Ji's social media accounts. I play chess, as many of you are aware, and I'm honored to represent our dear nation in numerous events," she posted on the microblogging site.
She also exhorted parents and siblings to believe in girls' skills and encourage them.
"I think it's great that women athletes in india today receive so much support. india is making remarkable strides in encouraging women to play sports, providing them with training opportunities, and providing them with sufficient exposure in sports," Vaishali tweeted.
Elina Mishra, a nuclear physicist, and Shilpi Soni, a space scientist, will also be handling the Prime Minister's accounts for the day. "Thrilled to be helming the PM's social media properties on #WomensDay," they said in their tweet.
"Our message- india is the most vibrant place for science and thus, we call upon more women to pursue it," they wrote on Twitter.
Soni is from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, and Mishra is from Bhubaneswar. Mishra claimed that being chosen to work at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in mumbai fulfilled her desire of pursuing a career in science. Soni, meanwhile, stated that after a brief period at the DRDO, working at isro has been a dream come true for her.
