The woman wrote in the post that while coming from delhi to Bangalore on march 4, 2025, we had booked a wheelchair from the airlines for our 82-year-old grandmother, but on reaching the airport, she was not provided with a wheelchair. Due to no other option, the elderly woman had to walk from the parking lane to the T-3 terminal. During this, she fell. The female passenger alleged that even after her grandmother fell, no air india staff helped her. The family members had to help her. When the wheelchair arrived, the airline put her on the plane without medical help, while the injuries on her face were visible. She was given ice packs on the plane and she could get medical help only at Bangalore airport. The female user claimed that now her grandmother has to be admitted to the ICU as there is a possibility of bleeding in her brain. The family has also complained about this to DGCA and air India.
On the allegations of the woman, the airline said that the elderly woman along with her family had arrived at the terminal two hours later than the scheduled time. The family reported at the counter 90 minutes before the flight took off. At that time, there was a huge demand for wheelchairs, due to which they were provided wheelchairs within 15 minutes. The passenger's claim that she had to wait for an hour for a wheelchair is completely baseless. The airline also said that the woman passenger herself had said that she wanted to walk, but unfortunately, she fell. All efforts were made to help her during the flight.
