A joint team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Katghar police has arrested absconding Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Ulfat Hussain. A bounty of 25 thousand was declared on the terrorist who was absconding for 18 years. Ulfat Hussain alias Mohammad Saifullah islam alias Afzal alias Parvez alias Hussain Malik, resident of Fazalabad, Surankot, Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir) was arrested in the year 2001 from Katghar police station area of Moradabad.
A large quantity of weapons and explosives were recovered from his possession. In this case, cases were registered against Ulfat Hussain under 307 IPC, Arms Act, POTA, and criminal Law Act. A permanent arrest warrant was issued against him in the year 2015. After this, he absconded. On march 2, the Senior Superintendent of police announced a reward of 25 thousand on him.
The ATS investigation revealed that Ulfat Hussain had taken terrorist training in 1999-2000. After this, he came to Moradabad and was planning to carry out a major terrorist incident. The weapons and explosives recovered from him were brought from Pakistan.
