The people, among them gautam Garasiya, the previous pastor of the church, have painted the walls saffron and taken down the holy cross from the structure. A statement inviting people to the church's conversion to the temple of Bhairav Ji on march 9, 2025, at 11 a.m., has gone viral throughout the area.
Gautam Garasiya, the former pastor, claimed to have been the first person in Sodladudha village to convert to christianity thirty years prior. As a result of his conversion to christianity, he was later appointed pastor. Near his hut, he used to host sunday prayers. Some groups provided gautam with funding three years ago so that he might construct a church close to his hut.
Since my life had barely changed, I made a Ghar Wapsi about a year and a half ago. "I'm glad to be back to my religion now," gautam told FPJ, adding that 30 of the 45 people who followed him have returned to hinduism after converting to Christianity.
Regarding any pressure to convert, Goutam stated that neither when he became a Christian nor now, when he is performing a Ghar Wapsi, was there any pressure. He claimed that because the church was constructed on his property, he has now decided to turn it into a temple dedicated to Bhairu Ji, the Hindu protector.
