At any opportunity, large theater chains are prepared to profit on the bollywood phenomenon of film re-releases.  Large-scale events are also being used to appeal to a certain demographic and give them a symbolic appearance.  However, all of this has also sparked a social media discussion on the value of art and the entertainment industry's unrelenting money-making bent.  It all began when PVR chose to screen films about women from march 7–13 in honor of international Women's Day.

The movies on display are Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion, Imtiaz Ali's Highway, and Vikas Bahl's Queen.  Whether it is moral to profit from the re-release instead of genuinely advancing women's rights has been the subject of heated debates.  Many questioned why they aren't showing films made by female directors who are more adept than their male counterparts in capturing the subtleties of women's struggles.  What about other days? Some people claimed that this is only done when Women's Day is approaching.

Fans obviously want the quality of movies being released today to increase rather than just watching old movies again since they are sick of seeing the same old movies over and over again.  However, several also praised this action as noteworthy and progressive.
