According to concerning data from a recent AIG Hospital survey of more than 1,000 IT workers in Hyderabad's Hitech City, 80% of them were overweight.  Dr. D. Nageshwar reddy, chairman of the AIG Hospital, spoke about these findings during the hospital's "Break The Weight" event on World Obesity Day.  He also discussed the growing prevalence of health problems linked to obesity.  The rising prevalence of early-onset cardiovascular disorders among IT workers was discussed by Dr. Rajiv Menon, Head of Cardiology at AIG Hospital.

According to him, cardiac conditions usually manifest ten years later in the West than among Indians.  However, heart attacks are happening twenty years sooner than anticipated in Hyderabad's IT industry, with people in their 20s experiencing heart attacks as a result of obesity.  Although everyone believes that obesity is a much bigger issue in the US, the statistics show a startling reality.  Thirty percent of people are at risk of becoming obese, while sixty percent of people are overweight.

Additionally, Dr. reddy identified some troubling patterns in children.  Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease was found to affect 40% of kids in government schools, primarily as a result of obesity.  We shouldn't ignore these numbers because they are enormous.  Major health complications include diabetes, liver disease, PCOD, respiratory problems, and sleep disturbances are all associated with obesity.  To solve this expanding issue and begin to care about our health, we need to undertake drastic lifestyle adjustments.
