Making an appointment for the interview is a difficult undertaking in and of itself before receiving an H-1B visa.  But what if, days before the interview, your appointment disappears from the system after you've paid a significant amount and organized everything?  This was the startling truth that some indian H-1B candidates had to deal with.  When many people get into their accounts, they discover that their completed appointments and even their application information are gone.

When someone complained about this problem to customer service, they were told, "You canceled it," even though they obviously didn't. Even worse, there are no more spots available and they have to pay the visa price again if they want to make another reservation.  But a fellow candidate saved the day by pointing out that this appears to be a system issue.  According to them, appointments "disappear" three business days prior to the interview; nonetheless, they are still legitimate, and you are welcome to show up at the time you have been assigned.

The topic of why customer service is not informing customers about this system breakdown is even more pressing.  Opening the portal just hours before their interview can be a great shock for indian candidates who are keen to get employment in the US.  Until this issue is fixed, all candidates should print their appointment details as soon as they receive the confirmation.
