When the indian cricket team won the Champions Trophy on sunday night, a group of young people in the Dewas area of madhya pradesh reportedly had their heads shaved and were paraded by the police. After the scene turned violent, two men were charged under the National Security Act (NSA) for allegedly attacking the police, according to NDTV.

Videos from Monday's incident, which showed the young people with shaven heads being escorted by police, went viral.  BJP mla gayatri Raje Puar met with Dewas Superintendent of police Punit Gehlot on tuesday as a result of the commotion. Puar stated that the booked youngsters had no criminal history when she brought up the matter in the house and spoke with the SP.  She said that the conduct was disproportionate and that they should be released immediately.

"While everyone was celebrating the victory, I brought up the problem in the house and also spoke with the SP about it.  There is no criminal history among the young people who have been booked.  Therefore, I believe that it has been overreacting to them, regardless of what actually transpired.  Gayatri Raje Puar was reported by ANI as stating, "I have called for their immediate release, and I believe they will be released soon."

The Dewas SP promised to take action against those found guilty, and she stated that an investigation by the additional SP would identify the officials responsible.

"An investigation into the situation has been mandated in order to determine who officials were responsible for the beatings of the public, businesses, and adolescents.  The other SP will look at this.  "Anyone found guilty in the probe report will face consequences, the Dewas SP has promised me," the mla continued.

When police, under the direction of station in-charge ajay Singh Gurjar, attempted to prevent several young people from recklessly exploding crackers at Sayaji Gate, a fight broke out.

Youths were seen on camera acting inappropriately toward the officers, which prompted them to flee.  Some were observed throwing stones at and pursuing a police car.

Police used video evidence to charge ten young people after the incident.  Videos of several of them being marched with their heads forcibly shaved from the police station to Sayaji Gate appeared the following evening, according to an NDTV report.
