Vijay, the star of tamil cinema, recently threw a party at the YMCA grounds in Royapettah, Chennai.  The gathering, according to the tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath, offended the feelings of the Muslim community, which is why the actor has become the target of a formal complaint.

Allegations Against Vijay
Syed Kous, the treasurer of tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath, reportedly told the media that the event was badly planned and did not follow the authentic meaning of Iftar.  He further claimed that those in attendance had nothing to do with the religious importance of Iftar or fasting, which he called an insult to the community.

Syed also took issue with the security setup, saying that Vijay's foreign guards were rude to guests.  He called on authorities to prosecute the actor, stressing that the complaint was not made for attention but rather to stop similar occurrences from occurring in the future.

Vijay shared an Iftar lunch with guests and took an active part in the prayers in spite of the criticism.  The actor was spotted sporting a skull cap, and a number of images and videos from the occasion went viral on social media, demonstrating his participation in the event.  In 2023, Vijay formally declared his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and he declared that he will not be signing any more film deals while he gets ready to run in the tamil Nadu elections in 2026.
