Despite strong box office results, Devara Part 1 has become a huge letdown for both the general public and NTR's own fanbase, particularly since its OTT distribution on Netflix.  Fans are not at all interested in Part 2 of the movie because of its poor plot, drab execution, and lack of impact.  But koratala siva doesn't want to face reality.  

He is holding tightly to Devara 2 as his project for redemption rather than moving on.  According to reports, he declined several high-profile proposals from well-known actors because he thought he could somehow demonstrate that Devara was always a fantastic script. However, the harsh reality is that fans no longer give a damn.

Despite the criticism, koratala can count himself fortunate that Devara 1 even managed to get respectable box office receipts.  He need to go on and work on new initiatives rather than imposing a sequel that no one wants.  NTR has already moved on in the interim!  He is aiming for high-profile commercial films that would increase his widespread appeal in the bollywood and pan-India markets with war 2 and his prashanth neel project.

Fans will never accept him in Devara's antiquated, slow world again after seeing him in Prashanth Neel's ultra-mass action movie.  The notion of a sequel is being categorically rejected by them.  In an attempt to rekindle interest, koratala is now attempting to cast ranveer singh in Part 2, aiming to market it as a more mainstream bollywood production.  

However, given NTR's improving career trajectory and intensifying fan criticism, the true question is: does Devara 2 still have a chance? The excitement is over, and Koratala's fixation on proving himself may be his worst error to date.
