American woman kept her son captive for 20 years!

You must have heard many stories about people being kidnapped and held hostage in the world. But have you ever heard of a mother keeping her son hostage? Yes, a mother from Connecticut kept her stepson hostage for more than 20 years. This was revealed when the 32-year-old victim step-son deliberately set fire to the house last month to get free from this captivity.

After the disclosure of this case, the woman has been accused of keeping her stepson hostage in terrible conditions. Officials said that 56-year-old Kimberly Sullivan has been taken into custody on wednesday (March 12) on charges of this horrific crime. This incident has come to light just a month after the fire in the family's house in Waterbury.

According to court documents, the accused woman moved out of the Sullivan home and her stepson was dragged out of the home by firefighters on february 17. He admitted to lighting a fire in the home's small storage area where he was forced to sleep. He told firefighters, "I want my freedom."

Authorities claimed the woman had held her severely malnourished stepson captive like in a horror movie before the house burned down and he set the house on fire to escape.

According to the woman's warrant, police described the young man as being emaciated and very dirty, with his hair disheveled and dirty. The victim said he had been held captive in the home by his stepmother since he was about 11 years old.
