US Deportation Row: The government is keeping a close watch on illegal immigrants who have returned to india from America! Told how many people have returned so far

The indian government is taking the issue of illegal migration seriously. The government told the parliament that so far 388 indian migrants have returned to india from America.

US Illegal indian Deportation

After the launch of the mass deportation campaign by donald trump in the US, india has identified 388 illegal Indian immigrants, who have now returned to their country. According to the Times of india report, some of these illegal immigrants reached amritsar in india directly from the US, while some returned via panama with the help of the international Organization for Migration (IOM).

The biggest challenge for india is that it cannot accurately know how many indians are living illegally in the US. The reason behind this is that these immigrants left india legally, but they either violated the law by overstaying their US visas or entered the US through illegal means.

Confirmation of indian citizenship

According to the government of india, confirmation of the nationality of illegal migrants is an ongoing process and it is ensured before deportation. minister of State for External Affairs kirti vardhan singh told the rajya sabha that such migrants are deported whose indian citizenship has been confirmed.

Number of indians deported and crackdown on migration

The highest number of indians deported from the US was 2,042 in 2019. In 2022, this number came down to 1,368. These figures show that the process of deportation is a complex issue for india, as it takes time to confirm the identity and nationality of the deported persons. External Affairs minister S jaishankar said in his statement in parliament that any country must take back its citizens living illegally abroad, but this should be done based on clear verification of their nationality. He also emphasized that india is taking strict measures against illegal immigrants and the illegal migration industry in the country will also be cracked down.

Illegal migration industry and India's crackdown

The biggest concern for the indian government is to stop those agents and organizations that promote illegal migration. S jaishankar said in parliament that law enforcement agencies will take strict action against agents facilitating illegal migration based on information received from deportees. These agents often work to send migrants to the US through fake documents or illegal routes, thereby deceiving migrants and putting their futures at risk.

The problem of illegal migration

Although there have been various estimates of the number of indians living illegally in the US, which could be anywhere from 200,000 to 700,000, the indian government does not have any accurate data on this. The reason behind this is that most of the immigrants went out of india through legal means but later started living illegally in the US. The indian government is taking the problem of illegal migration seriously and is focusing on international cooperation and strict policies to stop it. Based on the information and experiences of the deportees, strict action is being taken against those facilitating illegal migration.

The seriousness of the issue of illegal migration

Nationality verification has an important place in the return and deportation process of 388 illegal migrants who returned to india from America. The government of india is taking the issue of illegal migration seriously and is taking international cooperation and strict steps to curb it. Close monitoring and strict action on the illegal migration industry is an important step in this direction.
