Online fraud cases are on the rise as a result of the nation's fast-increasing cybercrime incidences.  A startling 13,384 instances of cyber fraud were reported in the first three quarters of the current fiscal year (FY25), resulting in losses of Rs 107.21 crore. To address this escalating problem, the government launched the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), where victims can conveniently register complaints online or by phoning the helpline at 1930.
