
Hafiz Saeed's Close Aide Abu Qatal Killed In Pakistan
Qatal, a key operative of the terror outfit, played a key role in the june 9 attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.
Lashkar-e-Taiba's most wanted terrorist and Hafiz Saeed's close aide Abu Qatal was killed in pakistan on saturday night. As per reports, an "unknown" attacker killed Qatal in the Dina area of Jhelum district in punjab province of Pakistan.
Qatal, a key operative of the terror outfit, played a key role in the june 9 attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) also named Qatal in its chargesheet for his involvement in the 2023 Rajouri attack that targeted civilians in Dhangri village. The attack was followed by an IED blast. Seven people, including two children, died, and many others were seriously injured in the attacks.
NIA charge-sheeted five accused, including three Pakistan-based handlers of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit, in the case. As per the agency, Qatal had come to india in 2002-03 and was active in the Poonch-Rajouri range, along with other terrorists.
