Former Liberal party central banker Mark Carney was sworn in on friday (March 14, 2025) by governor General Mary Simon along with members of the 30th Canadian Ministry, which includes 58-year-old Anita anand as minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, while 36-year-old Kamal Khera is minister of Health. Both have been in the cabinet of former prime minister Justin Trudeau and are also retained in Mark Carney's cabinet. 


Who is Kamal Kheda

Born in Delhi, Kamal Khera's family moved to canada when she was in school. Later, she obtained a graduation degree in science from York university in Toronto. According to the website of the prime minister of canada, Kamal Khera was first elected as a Member of parliament from Brampton West in 2015. Kamal Khera is one of the youngest women elected to Parliament. She is a nurse, social worker, and a political activist by profession, who is engaged in improving the lives of people around her. Earlier, Kamal Khera served as minister of Senior Citizens, Parliamentary Secretary to the minister of international Development, Parliamentary Secretary to the minister of National Revenue, and Parliamentary Secretary to the minister of Health.

Anita anand was the frontrunner in the race for the post of PM

Mark Carney's cabinet also includes Anita anand, who was a front-runner to become PM after Trudeau, but in January she announced that she was withdrawing from the race and said she would run for re-election. Born and raised in rural Nova Scotia, Anita anand moved to Ontario in 1985.

According to the website of the prime minister of canada, Anita anand was first elected to parliament from Oakville in 2019 and has previously served as President of the Treasury Board, minister of National Defence, and Minister of Public service and Procurement. She is a lawyer and researcher by profession. She has also been a professor of law at the university of Toronto. 


Mark Carney's cabinet includes 13 men and 11 women. However, it is smaller than Trudeau's 37-member cabinet.
