Trump has the ability to make decisions on his own - PM Modi
In this podcast, PM Modi talked about US President Donald Trump. He told how his friendship with trump deepened. PM Modi, recalling his 2019 US visit, said, "When I was speaking on the stage of the Howdy Modi program, trump was listening to me. After finishing the speech, when I went to him and said that we should go around the stadium together, he immediately agreed and walked with me. It was not easy to do this because there are many protocols regarding the security of the US President. At this time I understood that Trump has the ability to take decisions on his own. I am an india First person, he is an America First person." PM Modi said, "The relationship between india and china is not of today. Both are ancient cultures. We have a role in the modern world as well. If we look at history, india and china have been learning from each other for centuries. Old records say that more than 50 percent of the world's GDP used to be of india and china alone."
'India and china keep learning from each other'
PM Modi said, "There is no history of conflict between us and china in earlier centuries. Both of our countries always kept learning from each other. At one time, buddha had a great influence on China. This idea went from here to there. We want our relations to remain the same in the future as well. When there are two neighboring countries, there is always some difference. There is a debate in a family too. We try that the debate going on between us does not turn into a dispute."
PM Modi said, "Our border dispute with china continues. Due to the incidents that happened on the border in the year 2020, the distance between us increased. I just met President Xi Jinping. Since then the situation on the border has improved. Now there has been a lot of improvement on the border as compared to 2020. Now gradually that old trust will come back and it will take time because there was a gap of 5 years in between."
