Actor-politician Vijay was assailed by bjp tamil Nadu head K annamalai on Monday, who described his party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam and the DMK's "B-team" as a "secret project" of the ruling party to hold onto power. He was answering questions from the media over a TVK representative who was disparaging the BJP.

In addition, the former IPS officer urged TVK founder Vijay to join the field instead of being a "work from home" politician.

"The bjp workers were on the ground, fighting for public welfare, while the actor-politician was just acting with women on screen," annamalai remarked.

He further said, "TVK is engaging in politics like a school kid, while Vijay plays politics by singing songs on movie sets and pinching the waists of actresses. Meanwhile, I am out on the ground—protesting, speaking, and directly engaging with the people. Is the leader of the tamil Nadu victory party doing "work-from-home" politics?

Unlike Vijay, who makes statements from film sets, I make mine by meeting people in the field. It is Vijay who is putting on a drama. The TVK party is nothing more than the B-team of the DMK.

Did Vijay suddenly decide to enter politics at 50? Where was he when he was 30? His political entry is nothing but theatrics. Vijay, who sits comfortably on film sets and issues statements, knows nothing about the struggles of the people. What gives him the right to talk about TASMAC, when he has glamorized smoking and drinking in his movies? Is wearing a kulla and attending an Iftar party for a single day enough to prove his connection with the people?"
