According to reports, a 27-year-old lady and her boyfriend fatally killed her husband, a merchant naval sailor, then dismembered and sealed his remains in a cement barrel. Days after the victim, 29-year-old Saurabh Rajput, returned from london for his daughter's sixth birthday on february 28, the crime occurred in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on march 4.
The lady, identified by police as 27-year-old Muskan, and her partner, identified as 25-year-old Sahil, were taken into custody. Rajput's remains were retrieved and submitted for a post-mortem, they added.
The police claim that after murdering Rajput, Muskan and Sahil took a vacation to Manali. According to the authorities, the lady misled her husband's family members about his location by sending out images and messages on social media and using his cell phone.
However, as their calls to Rajput were unanswered, the police claimed, his family got suspicious and reported him missing. After learning about the situation, an inquiry was started, according to Additional Superintendent of police (ASP) Ayush vikram Singh.
After being taken into custody by the police, Muskan and Sahil admitted to killing Rajput on march 4 by stabbing him. According to them, a complaint filed by the victim's relatives has led to the registration of a case.
